in search of collaborators for project with mozilla

mozilla has partnered with the clrtxt cohort to build solutions around localized, privatized, democratized artificial intelligence. This is a call to action.

what we need:
Beta-Testers | no pre-requisites required / unlimited open roles | this role is for users interested in beta-testing personalized neural networks that live with you, on your hardware. These would house your data privately and provide agency on what these neural networks know and what they're used for. These users will be the backbone of the project.

Teach Lead & Developer | application based / 1 open role | this role is for a tech lead who wants to build at the forefront of federated learning/training and decentralized consumer computation. We're looking for the kind of person that's on r/ollama or in the local ai adjacent communities. The type of developer who actually reads the boring shit no one else reads. Someone with a moral compass/backbone is a plus.

Analyst/Researchers | vibes based (but no pre-requisites required) / unlimited open roles | this role is for people who are keeping a pulse on the latest developments in ai, neural networks, machine learning, privacy protocols, data compression and logic flow. your job is making sure we maintain a competitive and necessary edge to the Claudes, ChatGPTs, Geminis, so on. We're looking for the kind of researchers who see patterns everywhere like beautiful wunderkinds and cultural strategists who understand that all technology is political.

why this matters:

Frontier models train on user data. Your contributions get absorbed into weights you can't extract from. You don't get a copy of the model that learned from you. If a small number of providers own substantially all training-capable compute, they get to set terms on what models exist, who can train them, and what those models are permitted to do.

Mozilla is involved because ensuring people can work within AI while still maintaining data sovereignty and weight ownership is worth building infrastructure for while there's still a chance to do so. If we dont do this now, we may regret it, because at one point we had the opportunity.
